Feb. 9: Clatsop County Board of Commissioners meeting

The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners meeting on February 9 will include an item of interest to Arch Cape residents.

Among the items on the agenda is the award of the contract for the replacement the Asbury Creek Bridge in Arch Cape in the amount of $91,960.00 with Bergerson Construction, Inc.

Clatsop Couny’s Public Works Department conducted a Request For Proposals for the replacement of the current wooden structure bridge that once carried vehicular traffic and has been relegated to carrying only pedestrian traffic since the mid – ‘90’s, with an all-aluminum, ADA accessible structure.

The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of May, 2022.

Asbury Creek Bridge lies on Pacific Street in Arch Cape. Pacific Street was publicly dedicated in the subdivision of Kent Price Park in 1945. The Oregon Revised Statutes gives jurisdiction of those roads to the county governing body.
